Work is due to begin next week (16 February) on improvements in Rhiwbina village as part of the Neighbourhood Renewal Scheme (NRS).
The work will include resurfacing the parking bays in Heol-y-Deri and repaving and resurfacing the pavements.

The entrance to the rear access lane next to the Co-Op is also due to be resurfaced.
There will also be new cycle stands, bins, planters and a community notice board, refreshed bus stop markings and new benches.
More benches, planters, and a notice board are proposed for the shopping area on Heol Llanishen Fach along with a new community notice board on Pantmawr Road.
The work, funded by UK Government, is expected to last around six weeks.
As we reported last summer, the three Rhiwbina councillors, Lord Mayor Adrian Robson, Lady Mayoress Jayne Cowan, and Oliver Owen submitted a successful bid for money from the regeneration scheme for general improvements.
Once the bid was confirmed, council officers started looking at some of the ideas included in the bid, and other proposals, including from Rhiwbina Eco Team and other community groups.
Some of the ideas have been rejected, however. Because utilities run on the eastern side of Heol-y-Deri, a request for the bus stop to be moved back to widen the road and for the parking bay to be extended couldn't be taken forward.
Also, the request for a zebra crossing near Coffi Lab couldn't be progressed because the opposite pavement is too narrow.

But Adrian told us: "I was pleased that the bid for regeneration funding was successful and it is great that this time, after previous regeneration bids have been turned down, we have been able to get these improvements for Rhiwbina.
"The scheme, which also includes benches at Heol Llanishen Fach and a community noticeboard in Pantmawr, will include items for the village such as planters and a new cycle stand.
"I am also pleased that pavements are being resurfaced in Heol-y-Deri as we know many residents have raised concerns about their state of repair".
