Helen from Rhiwbina Events Team looks ahead to this summer's big weekend
It’s nearly that time of year again. The Rhiwbina Summer Festival will be in Parc y Pentre, Rhiwbina. The dates to keep are 26 and 27 June 2026.
Friday night is music night, and this year we have four artists for you to enjoy, The Rock Project, The Marc Davies Band, Ophelia’s Beard and I Love My Friends. It’s going to be a good one so bring your dancing shoes.

Saturday is family fun day, and everyone is welcome. We’ll have entertainment on the stage, food and drink stalls, crafts by some wonderful people, games, face painting, a dog show, and a literary event.
Our stage artists will include Rhiwbina Primary school choir, Caz dance academy, Suzanne Scales performing arts, the Community Choir, Wonderland Dance, Mundo Dance, RATS, singalong with Anna and Elsa, and Jamie B sings to end the day.
The dog show will take place in the arena at 3pm, with Coffi Lab kindly sponsoring the event. Look out for our social media posts for the categories. Bring along your paw pal for fun and games, and a prized rosette or two.
In the Arts tent we have some talks from local authors and performers. Firstly, local Superhero Capten Cymru and Flames, followed by John Wake, then Sue Barrow and Helen Matthews, and finally Chris Lynch. Tickets are free for this event and are available on Ticket Source.
If there’s availability on the day, please come in and join us. You can find the talks in the Arts Tent.
Look out for Basil and Flint from OverTheres Stories, who will be roaming around the site. They’ll be making friends, so stop for chat if you see them.
Every festival we support a different charity, and we are so happy that this summer it is Bronwen’s Wish, a charity committed to supporting better mental health for children and young people.
Please look out for them at the festival and support them if you can. Northwood will be offering free face painting, and any donations made to them on the day will be given to our charity.
Once again, we will be selling our reusable cups, but you can of course bring your own. We aim to promote environmentally friendly solutions at our festivals, and all our vendors are committed to using our cups.
We couldn’t do this festival without the support of our team, the people who supply us with everything we need, local businesses, and you, the people who make it so much fun.
If you’d like to know more about what we do, contact us on social media, and if you could possibly give a few hours as a volunteer to keep the festival going, we’d love you to join us. There will be tea and biscuits.
See you at Parc y Pentre on Friday night from 5pm and Saturday from 10am 📅 Be sure to keep an eye on our events calendar to see what's coming up locally.
