Our premier partner, Rhiwbina-based Podium Therapies has expanded its services, with Sheree Phelps becoming a certified scar therapy practitioner.

Sheree gained her qualification through the Restore Scar Therapy method, further enhancing her commitment to helping people move better, recover well and regain confidence.

Inspired by the growing understanding of how scar tissue can impact both physical and emotional wellbeing, Sheree has trained in specialist techniques designed to support clients recovering from surgery, injury, burns, cancer treatment and Caesarean birth.

Restore Scar Therapy describes the treatment as a non-invasive, evidence-informed approach that combines specialist scar massage, fascial techniques and self-care strategies to improve scar function and reduce common symptoms.

“After having surgery a few years ago, I realised I didn’t know enough about scar therapy and how I could be helping people with their own," said Sheree.

"I became estranged from my own scars and because of my health scare I ignored them. Until the restrictions of internal adhesions became a mobility issue and restricted me doing things.

"Seeing how scar therapy helped me, changed my course as a therapist to train in the Restore Scar method and help people like myself.

"The training I received on the Emma Holly Restore Scar courses has truly been one of the most rewarding qualifications I have done, and one I will use with compassion, empathy and upmost care for my clients always”.

Sheree explained that scar therapy treatments can help:

  • Improve mobility and flexibility

  • Reduce pain, tightness and pulling sensations

  • Restore sensation in numb areas

  • Improve scar texture and appearance

  • Support emotional wellbeing and body confidence

  • Encourage healthy tissue hydration and circulation

She added that scar therapy is very different from deep tissue massage. Treatments are usually extremely gentle, often described as feather-light and pain-free.
