A locally written screenplay has been named in the official selection at a film festival in the USA.
The script for A Fish Out of Water by our Andy Weltch and award-winning Rhiwbina-born-and-raised Robert Lancey has made the cut at the Georgia Shorts Film Festival.

It's now among those those to be considered for honours at the festival in Atlanta in June.
The festival is a theatrical screening event for independent short films of all genres. It focuses on films from Georgia and the South Eastern states, but also showcases some of the best films and scripts from around the world.
The screenplay was previously named in the official selection for the KinoDrome International Motion Picture & Screenplay Festival in Cleveland, Ohio, and the London-based Paperscreenplay competition.
A Fish Out of Water is described as 'a Victorian tale of the fantastical and bizarre' and is set in a West Country fishing village in an alternative version of the 1890s.
Andy and Rob developed the script from a piece of flash fiction, which Andy wrote during the COVID-19 lockdown.
The film, due for completion by early summer, is directed by Crdiff animator Matthew Creed and designed by Anthony Richards, with main characters voiced by Robert Daws, Francesca Louise White, Richard Oliver, and Samantha Hudson.
You can find out more on the film's IMDb page. You can also watch the teaser trailer here.
