The Coryton Line was was treated to an unusual moment of joy, when a local bride and her bridal party boarded the Love Train from Birchgrove station to get to the wedding in Penarth!
Bethan and her now-husband Chris are long‑time users of the Coryton Line and when planning their wedding, the couple decided there was no better way to begin the celebrations than by incorporating the service they use so often into their big day on Saturday (9 May).

Birchgrove station, next to Hill Snook Park, is one of three train stations in Rhiwbina - the others being Whitchurch and Rhiwbina itself.
Bethan said: "Right from the start of our relationship, we've enjoyed using the Coryton line as a great way to quickly access Penarth, with its beautiful front and many great restaurants.
"Making the decision to use one of the lovely, new, electric trains to get to our wedding was one of the first we made. I know our guests were very surprised when they heard my plan, but TfW [Transport for Wales] really made it special, so the bridal party had the best time and it got me to the ceremony right on time!"
Chris added: "Thank you for getting Bethan to the ceremony. For one day only, Transport for Veils!"
Fellow passengers and Transport for Wales colleagues offered congratulations as the group made their way to Penarth on board a new Class 756 train.
Marie Daly, chief operating officer at Transport for Wales said: "We're delighted that Bethan and Chris chose to make the South Wales Metro part of their wedding day. As regular users of the Coryton line, their journey is a reminder of how public transport connects people to the moments that matter.
"We'd like to congratulate them on their marriage and are pleased to have played a small part in their celebrations."
