The Pantmawr Inn in Rhiwbina has been named Best Pub of the Year in North Cardiff.
The award was made by Joel James MS, the regional Conservative Member of the Senedd for South Wales Central.
"Hundreds of nominations were received, with an overall winner and eight area winners following Welsh Parliamentary constituencies," he explained.
The Pantmawr Inn received the award for the Cardiff North constituency. Joel said on Facebook: "This award is a testament to their commitment and enthusiasm within the community - congratulations!"
Another pub close to our area, Radyr Tap in Radyr, won the award for Cardiff West constituency.
The overall winner was the Farmers Arms in Church Village, which won the Best Pub Award for Pontypridd constituency and also received the most nominations in the competition.
As we recently reported, the Pantmawr Inn is among several local pubs earmarked to join Cardiff's Local Heritage List.
The Pantmawr is thought to date from the 18th century and has been a pub since around 1960.
