Rhiwbina Tennis Club and two of its teams have been shortlisted for the prestigious Tennis Wales Awards.
The club is among those being considered for the Club/Centre of the Year award, along with Penarth Lawn Tennis Club and Swansea Tennis Centre.
Meanwhile, in the new category for Club Team of the Year,Rhiwbina Ladies 1st Team and Rhiwbina Men’s 1st Team have made it to the final three, along with Cardiff Castle Ladies 3rd Team.
The awards will be presented at a special event hosted by TV presenter Arfon Haines-Davies, at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff, on Saturday January 18th,
Among the special guests will be Michael Downey, the new chief executive of the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) in his first public engagement in the new role. Mr Downey, previously head of Tennis Canada, will be joined by Sarah Powell, the new chief executive of Sport Wales, as well as players, volunteers, officials and supporters from all over Wales.
