The play area in a North Cardiff park has re-opened after an extensive upgrade, inspired by nearby Llanishen and Lisvane reservoirs.

Children from Rhydypenau Primary School and Coed Glas Primary School helped select the new equipment for Rhydypennau Park, which you can get to on foot from Fidlas Road and Rhydypenau Road. The park now includes:
toddler, junior, basket and ‘fishing rod’ swings;
a wheelchair accessible roundabout;
a climbing mound and slide;
boat themed multi-play units;
bird and fish themed spring toys;
an accessible dragonfly seesaw; and
an 'island to island' zipway.
We first reported on the redevelopment last October.
Cardiff Council cabinet member Jennifer Burke, said: “This upgrade has transformed the old play area into a vibrant, inclusive new community space that children of all ages and abilities can enjoy.
“The connection to the local reservoirs is a lovely touch and hopefully all the new equipment will put smiles on a lot of faces in the coming months and years.”
