New Theatre announces autumn programme

With the days getting shorter and the nights longer, Cardiff’s New Theatre is inviting people to captivate themselves in the drama of the theatre.

The theatre has a busy programme of shows coming up, with performances to delight all audiences.

You can immerse yourself in, not one, but two, Shakespeare performances in one week, as theWatermill Theatre Company brings you A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Macbeth.

There’s a musical singalong as some old favourites return and new productions hit the stage. The European tour of Little Miss Sunshine brings a brand new flavour of comedy and camper vans, while Willy Russell’s classic Blood Brothers [here’s our review of a 2017 performance] brings Lyn Paul back for her farewell tour as the iconic Mrs Johnstone.

You can try to unravel the puzzles in a collection of upcoming murder mysteries, from Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap, featuring the inimitable Susan Penhaligon, to “hilarous musical whodunit” Curtains, starring Jason Manford, Carley Stenson, and Strictly Come Dancing winner Ore Oduba.

Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein is the Halloween treat, and there’s comedy with the multi award-winning Peter Pan Goes Wrong.

There’s a chance to step back to the rockin’ rollin’ 1950s for the sensational Buddy [here’s our review of a 2017 performance], before the main event of the year – the fairy godmother of all pantomimes, Cinderella, starring Gok Wan.
