There will be an ecumenical Christmas Memorial Service at the Wenallt Chapel at Thornhill Crematorium in Rhiwbina on Sunday 30 November at 11.30am.
The 45-minute service, conducted by Rev Jason Tugwell, will include readings, poems and carols, with Deborah Morgan Lewis leading the singing. Everyone is welcome to attend.
There will a collection in aid of the Lord Mayor of Cardiff’s (Rhiwbina councillor Adrian Robson) two chosen charities for the year: the Forget-Me-Not Chorus and the Rescue Hotel.
Initially established in Rhiwbina, the Forget-Me-Not Chorus organises singing sessions for people with all forms of dementia, as well as the families, friends and professional staff looking after them.
The Rescue Hotel is a volunteer-led charity supporting the dogs at Cardiff Dogs Home. It helps to improve the lives of rescue dogs with care and resources, and ensuring they have the best possible chance of finding new homes.
Memorial tags, for a minimum donation of £2, can be placed on the Christmas Memorial trees in the Wenallt Chapel Courtyard in memory of loved ones. The trees will remain in place until Twelfth Night (5 January).
