Coryton Line to close for three days

There will be no rail services on the Coryton Line from Saturday (25 July) to the end of service on Monday (27).

It's because of a summer programme of work to upgrade the South Wales Valley Lines to deliver the South Wales Metro system.

The Coryton Line links Coryton with Cardiff Queen Street station and serves local stations including Rhiwbina, Whitchurch, Birchgrove, and Ty Glas.

While the line is closed, your train ticket will be accepted on Cardiff Bus routes 21, 23, and 27.

During the same period, there will also be no services on the Rhymney or Cardiff Bay line, or between Radyr and Cardiff Queen Street via Llandaf and Cathays. 

In the coming weeks, there will be closures on other lines in the network.

Dan Tipper, Transport for Wales's chief infrastructure officer said:  "These works are another important step in delivering the South Wales Metro and transforming rail travel across South Wales. While we know the closures will cause some disruption, the improvements we're making now will help create a more reliable, accessible and better-connected railway for the future."
