Warm welcome at local hubs

As autumn takes hold, Cardiff’s hubs and libraries - including Rhiwbina Hub - are again opening their doors to offer a warm, safe, and welcoming space for anyone feeling the pinch of rising costs.

Residents are welcome to drop into their local hub or library during regular opening hours to enjoy a comfortable environment where they can have a hot drink and light snack, relax, connect with others, read, and access a range of support services.

Rhiwbina Hub in Pen-y-Dre is open 9am-5pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, and 10am-6pm Thursday. It is closed on Sunday and Tuesday.

There are also local hubs at Llandaff North & Gabalfa, Llanishen, Radyr, Rhydepennau, and Whitchurch. You can find details here.

Digital support is also available to help people get online, get to grips with their devices and learn new skills.

Cardiff Council cabinet member Lee Bridgeman said: “Our Warm Welcome spaces have been a lifeline for many over the past two winters. With challenges still facing our communities, we’re bringing them back for another year to make sure everyone who needs this support gets it.

“Our hubs and libraries are more than just buildings—they’re community anchors. Whether you need a chat and some company, or practical advice, our teams are ready to support you.”

Advice and support available at hubs includes housing, benefits, debt support, information about grants and discounts.  Anyone looking for help can also contact the Council’s Money Advice team on 029 2087 1071 or email advicehub@cardiff.gov.uk Visit www.cardiffmoneyadvice.co.uk
