Time to vote in Child Friendly Cardiff Awards

The first Child Friendly Cardiff Awards will take place next month to celebrate and recognise children, young people and organisations that have championed children's rights in their community, every-day life and workplace.

You can nominate people and organisations before Monday 12 June. Winners will be presented with their award at a ‘Rights Fest' event on Tuesday 11 July at Cardiff City Stadium.

Child Friendly Cardiff, which is organising the awards, has been supporting Cardiff Council in embedding children's rights into its policies and strategies, and delivering projects aimed at upholding rights and celebrating children and young people since 2018.

The categories for nominations are:

Young Achiever
Junior Young Achiever
Child Friendly Cardiff Partner
Junior Community Champion
Rights and Social Action Project
Arts, Culture and Digital Media Award

Cardiff Council's Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Education, Employment and Skills, Councillor Sarah Merry, said: "We are committed to becoming a UNICEF UK Child Friendly City, and so it's crucial that we recognise the hard work and effort that goes into this and celebrate the people who are making an impact in helping us achieve this goal.
