The Eco Group in Rhiwbina’s Beulah United Reformed Church is running a campaign throughout February in the fight against climate change, writes Sophie Platt.
The campaign is called ‘Show the Love’ and the Group is asking for members of the public to join in. Although the residents of Rhiwbina have already taken a lot of interest, the Eco Group is asking for more help and support throughout the year. They hope to raise awareness of climate change and the biodiversity crisis, and to encourage conversation about it.
In November, the UK is hosting the UN Climate Summit. The Eco Group wants to ensure that the UK is prepared for that and that we are globally on track for a greener future.
The Eco Group says the ‘Show the Love campaign’ “encourages people to use the power of green hearts to show what they love and want to protect from the impacts of climate change”. More information about the campaign can be found on the Show the Love website.
On 14th February 2021, there will be an art installation in the Beulah United Reformed Church. They want the congregation as well as the rest of Rhiwbina to join in displaying green hearts in aid of climate change.
If you would like to get involved, then click here to see examples of green hearts.
If you would like to make a green heart, please use recyclable materials. These can be displayed at your house or on the railing along with the hearts from the Eco Group. Or alternatively, you can display the hearts in your window.
