Road bridges, foot bridges, and level crossings will be closed next week, when Transport for Wales (TfW) electrifies the railway lines in North Cardiff.
As we reported earlier this week, the Coryton line, which includes the stations at Rhiwbina, Whitchurch, Coryton, Birchgrove, Ty Glas, and Heath Low Level, will be closed from Friday 31 January to Sunday 2 February to allow TfW to test the overhead power lines.

Similar work will be carried out at the same time on the lower Rhymney line between Caerphily and Cardiff Queen Street, affecting the stations at Lisvane & Thornhill, Llanishen, and Heath High Level.
The power lines that carry 25,000 volts will be live, making it extremely dangerous for anyone to come close to the overhead wires.
When engineers test the power lines over the weekend of 1-2 February, bridges and crossings will be closed for safety.
Here are the details -
Roads:
Pantbach Road https://what3words.com/model.echo.empty
Station Road https://what3words.com/monks.smiled.tigers
From 8am to 8pm on Saturday 1 February and 9am to 8pm on Sunday 2 February on both these bridges, there will be traffic management to allow single-lane traffic to travel over the bridge and help keep a safe distance from the sides of the bridge for pedestrians.
Highfield Road overbridge https://what3words.com/august.edge.shapes
This road will be closed for vehicles and pedestrians. There'll be a shuttle bus between the bus stops on Allensbank Road and Lake Road West, from 8am to 8pm on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February.
A diversion will direct cars over the railway via Wedal Road, to the South of Highfield Road.
