Rhiwbina Scouts and Guides join golden celebration of Cardiff's Gang Show

Scouts and Guides from Rhiwbina and other local areas are among those taking to the stage this week for Cardiff's golden anniversary Gang Show production.

This Is Gang Show opened at the New Theatre last night (Wednesday 20 November) and continues until Saturday.

It's a spectacular display of young talent, featuring over 100 young people experiencing the excitement of performing on a professional stage.

Cardiff Gang Show brings together Scouts and Guides from across the region to showcase their talents in singing, dancing and acting.

The young performers have been preparing for months, learning not only performance skills but also building confidence and fostering lifelong friendships.

The cast and crew features young people and adult volunteers from Cardiff and Vale Scouts and Cardiff and East Glamorgan Guides. They include many from North Cardiff: 60th Cardiff Rhiwbina Guides, 2nd Rhiwbina Cubs; 2nd Llanishen Guides, 3rd Llanishen Scouts, Llanishen & Lisvane Scouts; 1st Whitchurch Cubs & Scouts, 1st Whitchurch Guides, 8th Whitchurch Brownies.

This year's Golden Jubilee show is filled with songs, dances and comedy sketches, taking the audience through the origins of the first Cardiff Gang Show in November 1973 and what it takes to get the show from the pages of a script to opening night.

Some of the stand-out highlights include the illusion dance (you have to see it to believe it - and even then, you may not believe it!) and the giant beach balls!

As well as providing entertainment to an appreciative audience of friends, parents, and others, those taking part have gained invaluable experience in teamwork, leadership and public speaking.

This is Gang Show continues at New Theatre, Cardiff tonight (Thursday) and tomorrow, with a 3pm matinee on Saturday.

You can get tickets by phoning the box office on 0343 310 0041 or online here.
