Congratulations to Rhiwbina Tennis Club’s Tom James, who won the ITF Seniors Championship on the grass courts at Harpenden.

Playing in the 40+ category, Tom beat David Tarascio of Australia 6-1 6-4 in the first round, and a walkover 6-0 6-0 over fellow Brit Jaime Cotton in round two.
This took him to a hard-fought semi-final clash with Brazilian Marcio Sugui, which he won 6-7(4) 6-4 1-0(2).
In the final, he faced Lithuania’s Laimis Gruodis – a match which Tom won 6-4 6-1.
The victory marks Tom’s sixth ITF singles title, and his second on grass. The full results can be seen here.
