Rhiwbina film’s cast and crew reunite for screening

Cast, crew and supporters of the new made-in-Rhiwbina short film Annalium 8: Sssss gathered with supporters for a special screening at the weekend.

This was only its second big-screen showing, after it received a very positive reception as part of the Chapter MovieMaker programme of short films in Cardiff two weeks ago.

It was the first time most of the cast and crew had met since the shoot last summer, and the event at Whitchurch Rugby Club was a huge success.

Writer and co-producer Rob Lancey was born and raised in Rhiwbina. Our own Andy Weltch is also a producer, and it was shot locally.

Directed by Andrew Griffin from a script by Robert Lancey, Annalium 8: Sssss is a dark scifi short, produced by Weltch Media and Annalium Films.

In a world where all animal life has been wiped out, a scientist in full bio-hazard kit and with a life-support machine in tow, discovers a young girl, apparently fit and well…

The next chance to see the film on the big screen is at Monico Movies in Rhiwbina on October 14, when it will be the support programme for another North Cardiff-inspired film, The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain (1995).

For the latest news, follow the film on X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and Facebook.

You can see the trailer here, and be sure to check it out on IMDb.
