Fortune smiled on this year's Christmas Festival in Rhiwbina Village, with the threatened downpours staying away and just a few showers making a short appearance.

The village bustled with activity, with a range of food stalls doing brisk business in Pen y Dre, Canolfan Beulah hosting stallholders galore and the stage on Heol y Deri welcoming an array of talent throughout the event.
Father Christmas first appeared on the snowy roof of Edwards and Co Property, before magically arriving at the Wendy House where he saw 200 children in just a few short hours.

Children and family members waited patiently and in good humour for their turn and were rewarded by a visit with the Big Man - ably supported by his elves and fairies - and, of course, with their first Christmas present of the season.
The Christmas lights were turned on by Lord Mayor Adrian Robson, to a rousing cheer from the crowds.

The Festival is run wholly by volunteers from the village and surrounds.
Rhiwbina Events has thanked them all for making the event such a success again.
Kidney Wales was the chosen Festival charity and will be receiving proceeds from Santa's visits, as well as collecting themselves throughout the village on Saturday.
