Rhiwbeina Primary School's BSL choir performs for biggest audience

Rhiwbeina Primary School’s British Sign Language Choir were invited to perform at Cardiff’s annual Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Conference this week.

The choir, comprising 28 pupils from Years 5 and 6, performed in front of more than 150 delegates - their biggest audience so far.

The young performers have embraced British Sign Language to celebrate inclusion and support their peers.

They showed the power of creativity and communication when they entertained delegates with songs including George Ezra's Shotgun, The Beatles' Here Comes the Sun, and Vanessa Carlton's A Thousand Miles.

The event, attended by senior leaders and ALN Coordinators from across the city, featured keynote speakers and a variety of workshops, offering schools the opportunity to share their experiences in supporting learners.

Attendees also benefitted from networking with peers and professionals, gaining practical insights and strategies.
