South Wales Police (SWP) have been working to address parking issues on Heol y Deri in Rhiwbina and the side streets off it, especially during school drop-off and pick-up, because of local concerns.

The police say they have been:
liaising with council parking enforcement officers over local concerns;
carrying out high-visibility patrols in identified areas and have issued Section 59 notices and seizure warnings for vehicles used in an anti-social way;
issuing parking fines to persistent offenders;
working with partners to find alternative off-road parking opportunities, particularly near schools.
Police are asking drivers to be mindful of where they park, including not on white zig-zags, double or single yellow lines or over residents' driveways.

SWP also stress vehicles should not obstruct the pavement and there should be enough space for a pushchair or wheelchair to safely pass.
They say inconsiderate or illegal parking can not only put pedestrians and other road users in danger, it can also create an obstruction for emergency vehicles.
For more information see SWP's website.
Rhiwbina's neighbourhood policing team have also acknowledged reports that several residents in the area have found nails in the car tyres.
The team have asked residents who believe this to be deliberate to report the matter to 101 or online.
