Cardiff North's candidates for the General Election on 4 July have been confirmed this evening (Friday 7 June).
The candidates are:
Lawrence Gwynn (Reform UK)
Irfan Latif (Liberal Democrats)
Anna McMorrin (Labour)
Malcolm Phillips (Plaid Cymru)
Meg Shepherd-Foster (Green)
Joel Williams (Conservative)
Due to boundary changes and the reduction of the number of Wales MPs from 40 to 32, the Cardiff North constituency has expanded slightly since the last election in 2019.
It now includes Taffs Well, which was previously part of the Pontypridd constituency. So, Cardiff North now comprises the following council wards:
GabalfaÂ
Heath (which includes Birchgrove)
Lisvane and ThornhillÂ
Llandaff NorthÂ
LlanishenÂ
Pontprennau and Old St Mellons
Rhiwbina (which includes Pantmawr)
Whitchurch and TongwynlaisÂ
Taffs Well.
As with the recent poll for Police and Crime Commissioner, you will need photo ID to vote.
Anna McMorrin has held the seat for Labour since the general election in 2017.
