The Rhiwbina Summer Festival takes place next week (25-29 June), and the team is working hard to make it the best yet.
Events get under way with the ever-popular quiz and chips in Rhiwbina Recreation Club on Tuesday (25 June) before an evening of live music and great food on Friday (28), and then the main festival day on Saturday (29) with a whole range of family activities, stalls, and more.
Friday's and Saturday's events focus on Parc y Pentre and include for the first time a series of literary events - Poetry in the Parc and Author in the Parc. Details and how to book your free tickets:
10.30-11.30 Poetry in the Parc (ages 8-11) with Leigh Manley,
1.30-2.30 Poetry in the Parc (16+) with Mike Jenkins,
2.30-3.30 Poetry in the Parc with Leigh Manley.
Snails Deli will be running open mic sessions through the day from 10am to 5pm, and in Parc y Pentre itself, there will be activities, rides, entertainment, and food & drink.
Eleanor Sanders, chair of the organising committee told us: “All the volunteers that work so hard all year round to make sure the Rhiwbina Festival is the huge success it is each year are giving it a final push so each detail of our Parc y Pentre two-day festival is the best it’s ever been.
"Huge thank you to everyone. Come and enjoy music and good food on Friday night and a great family day out on Saturday.”
