Rhiwbina Scouts win community funding

A Rhiwbina Scout Group is among 14 community organisations across Cardiff to be awarded funding through the city’s Community Building Grants Scheme.


Funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund, the scheme offers grants of up to £10,000 to support upgrades that make community buildings more accessible, energy-efficient, and welcoming to the wider public.


2nd Rhiwbina Scout Group, which runs sections for Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, has been awarded funding to upgrade the toilets at the Scout hall off Lon Ucha.


Other successful applicants in North Cardiff include:


  • Jubilee Community Trust (Maes Y Coed Community Centre), Heath – accessible toilet and wet room upgrades  

  • Cosmos FC, Llanishen – heating system to support community use  

  • St John The Baptist, Llandaff – insulation works in the community hall 

  • Radyr Guide Hall, Radyr – new doors  

 

Cardiff Council's cabinet member for communities, Lee Bridgeman, said: “These grants are helping community organisations across Cardiff make meaningful improvements to their buildings.

 

“These changes will make a real difference to the people who use these spaces every day.”
