Rhiwbina Camera Club announces People's Trophy winner
A photo called Camera Shy by Steve Taylor has won the inaugural People's Trophy in the latest Rhiwbina Camera Club awards.
The photo of an impala was chosen by public vote from the pictures on display at this year's Rhiwbina Summer Festival.
A total of 327 votes were cast, and Camera Shy gained 53 votes, ahead of Ready to Rise by Jess Taylor with 44 votes and Missed! by Ben Ward with 39.
Ben, who is also the club's secretary and chair, explained that Missed! is an analogue film and darkroom print - a slightly tongue-in-cheek title because the boy wasn’t aiming at the gull - it just happened to swim into a good compositional position!
Rhiwbina Camera Club was formed in 1958 and is believed to be one of the oldest photography clubs in the UK.
From September to July, they meet on alternate Fridays in Rhiwbina Memorial Hall, CF14 6HL.
