MICHAEL FLATLEY’S LORD OF THE DANCE: AN APPRECIATION FOR DANCE LIKE NEVER BEFORE

Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance is celebrating 25 years of entertainment, and The New Theatre is part of it.

Starring Cassidy Ludwig as the Little Spirit, the story follows her dream, featuring the never ending battle of good versus evil. The Lord of the Dance (Matt Smith), must fight The Dark Lord (Zoltan Papp), to ensure the world remains full of good. And with a team of warriors, as well as Morrighan the Temptress, will The Lord of the Dance defeat the evil? Or will this dream of the little Spirit’s overcome her and turn into a nightmare?

This production is simply beautiful, and offers the audience an appreciation for dance like never before. The beauty of this production is that it is not restricting by language. It connects people all over the world, and can be interpreted in every language. It’s a diverse performance for all to enjoy.

The whole cast are amazingly talented, including Giada Costenaro and Aisling Sage on the Fiddles, who both played beautifully as well as danced without missing a beat.

Directed by Michael Flatley, the show has visited 1,000 venues worldwide over its 25 years. The show is so unique as it is brings a new energy to Irish dancing. The music and storytelling is one of a kind, and invites the audience to think about the message of the production. All this makes the show one of the most popular dance productions in the world.

This show will have you wanting to get up and join in with the dancing, and with the encouragement and showmanship from The Lord of the Dance, it’s difficult to resist the temptation.
