Bluebird Care has reported positive results from a staff survey of its Cardiff North Team to ensure employees felt informed and confident, particularly with new procedures in place during Covid-19.
At the beginning of June, the team, which covers Rhiwbina and other areas, was surveyed by an independent firm, WorkBuzz via a mobile app, which was set up to measure how the care team was coping in the current circumstances.
The firm says the survey saw some exceptional feedback, with 100% of the team strongly agreeing they had the right tools to do their job; 90% strongly agreed they have been kept informed throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, and 92% reported communication within the team has been effective.
Despite dispersing the office-based team to work from home, operations manager Chris Binstead kept the office open so that field-based care assistants could collect PPE upon request in allotted time slots.
“The text messaging facility in our rota software meant that we could keep in touch with care assistants collectively or individually,” he said. “This helped us stay in touch with the whole team and manage this very important process accurately. Keeping the care team safe meant keeping customers’ safe as well so as ensuring confidence all around.”
