Leftfield and Orbital will open Cardiff Music City Festival

Two of the world's greatest electronic music acts, Leftfield and Orbital, will open the Cardiff Music City Festival this autumn.

The two acts, who were so influential on the 1990s dance scene, will perform on 27 September at Utilita Arena (formerly Cardiff International Arena), signalling the start of three weeks of gigs, shows, and other music events around the city.

Supported by Welsh Government and Cardiff Council, the Cardiff Music City Festival aims to attract 20,000 in its first year.

Encompassing renowned new music festival Sŵn and Wales Millennium Centre's international arts weekend, Llais, the festival will spread music throughout the city, aiming to challenge, excite and inspire fans across generations and genres.

A full programme of local and international musicians, including household names and emerging talent will be announced over the coming months.

Cardiff Music City Festival runs from 27 September 2024 to 20 October. Tickets for the Leftfield and Orbital show went on sale today (Friday 26 April). You can find out more and book tickets here.
