There are plans for a new wine shop in Heol-y-Deri - but there's controversy about the man behind the proposal.
A Wales Online article reports allegations that Adam Pledger, the owner of Wine Republc, which wants to open the wine shop, has ignored claims of unpaid wages by former employees since his Park House restaurant in Cardiff went out of business in March.
Wales Online reports "seven recent former staff claim that the restaurant owes them a total of £10,500 in unpaid wages and that Mr Pledger has ignored them for months".
Mr Pledger didn't respond to the Wales Online allegations.
The new wine shop would be in the former Haus furniture store at 6C Heol-y-Deri, and would also include "a small wine bar area".
A notice on the premises explains that Wine Republic chose Rhiwbina "because of the vibrant high street and suburban location".
