Cards for Good Causes shop opens in Rhiwbina

Now in its 14th year in Rhiwbina, the Cards for Good Causes shop opens on Thursday (3rd December) at the Bethany Baptist Church, Church Hall, Heol Lanishen Fach, as well as a new City Centre shop.

The shop in Rhiwbina will be open six days a week, Monday to Friday 10am-4pm and Saturday 10am-1pm until 12th December.

Cards for Good Causes supports more than 250 national and local charities, selling Christmas cards, advent calendars, wrapping paper, gift tags and decorations, as well as gifts and toys.

Many of the regular pop-up shops have been unable to safely open, making a huge dent in charities’ funds.

In the last 10 years alone, over £40 million has been raised by Cards for Good Causes for UK charities through the generosity of customers and the hard work of the volunteers.

At least 70p in every pound from the card sales goes to support local and national causes. Charities benefitting include Cancer Research UK, Barnardo’s, British Heart Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society and RNLI, as well as local charities including City Hospice.

A husband-and-wife team, Gill and Tom, runs the shop in Rhiwbina with a team of volunteers. Tom said: “Buying charity Christmas cards is one of the simplest ways to support good causes this festive season and what better way to spread some festive cheer to family and friends in these difficult times.”

Details about the cards and gifts can be found at www.cardsforcharity.co.uk where you can also order online with home delivery.
