Caedelyn Park Update

The opening date for the reopening of the upgraded Caedelyn Park playground has been pushed back to 16th July, writes Sophie Platt.

The improvements, announced last year, included changes such as a ‘Castell Coch Multiplay Unit’, as well as new swings, which are suitable for older children, and a climbing frame for the younger children.

However, in the past few months, a lot of work has been pushed back due to the time lost during our second national lockdown earlier this year. The delay has disappointed Rhiwbina’s councillors, who have expressed their concerns (see image below).

It has been said that Cardiff, along with other authorities, has experienced delays such as this on several schemes.

The remaining work involves kerbing and laying the tarmac and safety surfaces.

Although the opening date has been pushed back, it is just in time for the school summer holidays, so there are plenty of time for children to enjoy it!
