A range of wedding cakes, made entirely of Welsh cheese, will be launched tomorrow, Valentine’s Day [Feb 14th 2018] by the locally-based Welsh Cheese Company.
The wedding cakes, which will weigh up to 13.5kg and will feed up to 200 people, will be named after Welsh castles, and will consist of wheels of the best cheeses, sourced from all corners of Wales.
The company’s owner Tom Pinder, who plays in the Welsh football supporters’ band The Barry Horns, said “Everyone wants something a little bit special as a centrepiece for their wedding, and many people like to celebrate their culture and their favourite foods too, so what could be better than a beautiful Welsh cheese wedding cake!”
The Taff’s Well-based Welsh Cheese Company was started in order to celebrate and champion the best cheeses Wales has to offer, and the cakes contain some of Wales’ most famous cheeses, such as Perl Las and Hafod Cheddar.
The full range of cheese wedding cakes will be available from www.welshcheesecompany.co.uk from Valentine’s Day.
