Spice Time Credits are starting a new Time Credit programme in Rhiwbina and across the North of Cardiff.
Time Credits are a way for saying ‘thank you’ to people who give time to their community.
Examples from other projects include getting involved in a litter pick, helping out a school reading club or training to become a dementia friend. For every time credit you earn, you can then spend at community events or one of the organisation’s spend partners across the network.
Charlie Mason, the Cardiff project coordinator told us: “We’re looking to spread the word, so if any community groups were looking to use Time Credits to grow or support their volunteering and for any individuals that are looking where they can volunteer to earn Time Credits, they know where to go.”
Spice Time Credits are holding some events and training for those interested in finding out more and getting involved.
Events in the area are:
Become a Dementia Friend – Rhiwbina Library, Monday 2nd October, 1.30pm – 2.30pm;
Time Credits Launch – Rhiwbina Baptist Church, Tuesday 10th October, 4pm – 7pm;
Time Credits Launch – Thornhill Primary School, Wednesday 18th October, 4pm – 7pm;
Time Credits Launch – Coed Glas Primary School, Llanishen, Thursday 23rd November, 4pm – 7pm.
