The Big Walk is coming to Cardiff’s Bute Park for a few hours of fun, friendship, walking and talking, this Saturday (26 May) from 10am.
The Big Walk involves four walkers from the four home nations, starting in Morecambe and walking for three weeks towards home, highlighting communities and volunteers who are doing extraordinary things where they live.
Saturday’s free event starts at 10am near the Secret Garden Cafe in Bute Park, and involves a walk around the park, followed by the opportunity to picnic.
Organisers ask people to register in advance on this link.

The Big Lunch is an idea from the Eden Project in Cornwall and was launched in 2009 with the simple premise that ‘great things happen when you bring people together’.
Lowri Jenkins of Eden Communities said: “The Big Walk celebrates the great things people make happen where they live. The Big Lunch is a chance for people everywhere to build those friendships and connections locally, which help to create stronger, happier communities. Last year 9.3 million people had fun together at over 96,000 events across the UK – so come along to Bute Park this Saturday, join in the fun and find out what you can do to bring your own community together for a Big Lunch on June 3.”
