Rhiwbina Tennis Club is among the finalists for honours at the annual Tennis Wales Awards this weekend.
The club is shortlisted in the club or centre of the year award and Tom James is shortlisted in the coach of the year award.
The awards, which will be presented in Swansea on Saturday night, recognise achievements for 2016, a year which saw Rhiwbina host a visit by the Davis Cup trophy and the Prime Minister!
The club also became the first in Wales to stage a Seniors ITF (International Tennis Federation) world ranking event, when more than 60 players from Wales, England, Scotland, New Zealand and Hong Kong participated in the four-day competition.
Rhiwbina was also a finalist in two categories at last year’s awards, presented in Cardiff in February, but missed out on club or centre of the year (won by Penarth Windsor LTC) and the men’s 1st team missed out on club team of the year (won by Cardiff LTC men’s doubles 1st team).
